Tadano ATF 110 Crane
Recently, during routine lubricant analysis carried out on the front differential of a Tadano ATF 110 Crane, a high level of water contamination and oil turbidity was identified. This indicated the ingress of external contaminants into the system and highlighted the need for immediate action to prevent damage to the equipment components.
Through fluid analysis, ALS promotes predictive maintenance to prevent damage and inconvenience to your equipment.

Analysis
Laboratory analysis detected a high water content in the lubricant, which is a clear indication of external contamination. This result suggests a high likelihood of contaminant ingress due to failures in the differential sealing system.
Diagnosis
Based on the results obtained from the predictive lubricant analysis, the customer was immediately notified and advised to carry out a detailed inspection of the system. This included checking the compartment washing procedure, possible seal damage, evidence of leaks, and operating conditions.
Solution
During the inspection, wear was identified on the differential seals and oil seals, which allowed water to enter the compartment during high-pressure washing procedures, thereby promoting lubricant contamination. The damaged seals and oil seals were replaced and the oil was changed, restoring appropriate lubrication conditions and ensuring safe and reliable operation of the equipment.
Result
The intervention cost R$3,909, including parts and labor.
The person responsible for gathering the information pointed out that predictive analysis was fundamental for the early detection of the fault, allowing maintenance to be carried out in a planned mannerand avoided expenses estimated at R$ 268.140.
The savings generated by predictive maintenance amounted to R$268,140 (or 98.50%).
Risks without analysis and predictive maintenance:
- Experienced compromised lubrication system performance
- Shown premature wear of gears, shafts and bearings
- Progressed to functional failure of the differential
