Follow this simplified guide to understand the procedures you can follow from the moment you sign a contract with ALS for the collection, shipment, processing, and analysis of your sample!

Once you’ve received your ALS sample kits, it’s time to plan your scheduled stops for collection (we recommend collecting from the preventive half, ensuring time for intervention actions), check out the good collection practices and follow the steps below.

What is the best way to collect the sample without contaminating it?

Once the kits arrive, follow the step-by-step instructions to consider all compartments of your maintenance plan. For a perfect oil sample, the equipment must be running with all its components activated so that the oil flows through the parts, keeping the particles suspended. Watch the tutorial in this video.

Important!

Before sending, retighten the bottle cap to ensure there are no leaks. Place the bottle together with the form inside the bag. Always make sure the sample remains upright!

How to send samples to ALS?

After becoming an ALS client and signing the contract with us, you’ll receive order and contract information, find out which laboratory is closest to your company, and choose the best shipping method—whether via a courier of your choice, reverse sampling by ALS (available in selected locations only), or through ALS-recommended partners.

To determine the best option, speak with your advisor or contact us via email.

Prague: eva.hrdinova@alsglobal.com

What should I do after collecting the fluid sample?

To speed up the analysis, pre-register* the samples using the S360 application. Collected samples should be sent to the ALS laboratory closest to you, according to your contract.

*When pre-registering, bear in mind that the laboratory sample entry process is automatic and without human interaction, so all information must be entered accurately. No additional information is considered beyond the pre-registration.

What happens after I send my sample to ALS?

ALS receives the sample, validates the data, and immediately enters it into the laboratory analysis process according to the predefined scope. The analyses at ALS follow the international ASTM standards as a reference.

My sample shows as collected — how can I track the processing?

You can monitor the sample status in real time via this link: https://s360web.com/amostra/index , Just select your sample and follow the entire process.

My sample is listed as segregated — how do I resolve this?

Simply enter the sample data on the website to remove the segregation. This can be done via https://s360web.com/amostra/index   After selecting the desired sample, click “Edit Collection” in the top right corner.

My sample has been analysed — how do I access the ALS report?

You can access it online at https://s360web.com/ , or via the S360 App, available for both iOS and Android in their respective app stores. Reports can also be downloaded and sent as PDF files by email.

What does a “Normal” sample result mean?

Samples where no action is required. Despite a normal result, it’s important to maintain sampling frequency, as conditions can change unexpectedly.

What does an “Attention” sample result mean?

Samples that show slight variation but do not yet require any action. This status is also used for samples with missing or inconsistent data (e.g. no hour counter information, no oil details, etc.). In this case, it’s necessary to verify the data and sample identification procedure.

What does an “Abnormal” sample result mean?

Samples where intervention or inspection is required. This can usually be addressed during the next scheduled stop, as long as it’s not too far off.

What does a “Critical” sample result mean?

Samples requiring urgent action. This may involve invasive maintenance or inspection, or checking for irregular phenomena such as sudden changes in operating conditions.

What are the sample interpretation parameters?

When interpreting a sample, no single element should be evaluated in isolation. The combination of results, wear trend analysis, lubricant condition, and other factors must be considered. The interpretation of wear elements is based on the overall sample information. We always recommend following the interpretation included in the reports, as any item requiring attention will be highlighted in the commentary.

Is the final sample analysis result 100% reliable? If so, what’s the guarantee?

ALS analyses are conducted in accordance with ASTM international standards, which ensures reliability. Additionally, our equipment is calibrated and undergoes rigorous daily quality control processes using internal control samples and traceable standards to ensure high-level performance. Combined with a team of diagnostic experts, these factors guarantee the accuracy of our reports.
